Preamplifier for SPM
The preamplifier is developed for simultaneous processing of the tunneling current and the quartz resonator probe signal. It can be used for both STM and dynamic SFM measurements. Additionally, the preamplifier unit is able to electrically drive the probe oscillations and compensate for the capacity of the quartz resonator. The integral part of the preamplifier is a unit for the sample bias voltage amplyfier and amplyfier for the drive signal of the dither piezo (for mechanical excitation of the probe oscillations). The preamplifier unit is split into two parts. The first one is built in the microscope body, which allows for shorter leads. The second part is outside the UHV chamber and processes the preamplified signals.
