Control unit for atomic hydrogen source

developed within TACR grant no. TJ01000271 

Controlling unit integrates current source for filament (3 A maximum) and high voltage source (2 kV maximum) for setting up a potential to dissociation capillary. The unit readsout the emission current value (60 mA maximum) and temperature from a thermocouple attached to a cooled source body. The unit thus not only substitutes formerly used two source units (current and voltage), but allowed to include protection circuits – it is possible to set up automatic power off if the temperature at the source body increasesabove limit in case of cooling water failure. Additionally, the unit has a set limit for emission current. If reached, the unit will automatically decrease the potential on the capillary to prevent it from melting.
